Ervin Paul Roethe

	Ervin Paul Roethe, age 90, of East Water Street, Pinckneyville, passed away Wednesday evening, February 27, 2002 in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
	Ervin was born July 24, 1911 in Pinckneyville, the son of Otto and Christina (Beck) Roethe.  Ervin served in the U.S. Army during WWII in France, then was united in marriage to Hilda Pick on July 20, 1946 in the Zion Lutheran Church in Pinckneyville and she survives.  Ervin worked many years as an auto mechanic and as a clock repair specialist in the area for over 40 years and was a member of the National and Local Clock and Watch Club, a member of the Perry County Historical Society, was baptized, confirmed and an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Pinckneyville and also served as  a trustee for the church.
	Ervin is survived by his wife, Hilda of Pinckneyville; one son, Jim Roethe and wife Susan of golden Gate, Ill.; two daughters, Helen Mayer and husband Vernon of Cutler and Ruth Ann Fulton and husband Jim of Saunemin, Ill.; two brothers, Carl Roethe and wife Isabelle of Pinckneyville and Walter Roethe and wife Dorothy of Columbia, Ill; one sister, Mildred Ziegler of Pinckneyville; a sister-in-law, Edna Roethe of Pinckneyville; seven grandchildren, John and wife Kelly, kevin and Brian Mayer, Jami and Niki Roethe, Daniel and katie Fulton and many nieces,nephews and friends.  Ervin was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Herbert.
	Funeral services were planned for Saturday, March 2, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Pinckneyville with Pastor Russell Helbig officiating.  Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville Friday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 8 until 10 a.m., then at the church from 10:30 a.m. until services.
